The Director works to expand both audiences and scope and explore ways to deliver programs powerfully in local and distance settings.

The Director of Public and Noncredit Programs reports directly to the Dean/Chief Academic Officer (CAO) and works closely with faculty and administrative, marketing, and facilities staff. 

Responsibilities 

  • With Dean/CAO lead institutional think tank for public and noncredit programs to plan, develop, and curate overarching themes and individual public and noncredit programs.

  • Implement public and noncredit programs (public programs, arts and culture programs, leadership programs—excluding degree and certificate programs), including all logistics and day-of-event details.

  • Prepare reports, updates, and grant materials as related to the development and performance of public and noncredit programs for internal and external constituents.

  • Develop program goals, metrics of success, and tools for evaluation; use these to evaluate programs.

  • Develop and nurture external program partnerships and community connections. Develop new modes of delivery and facilitate use of institutional resources as part of programming.

Position Requirements

  • Master's degree preferred, in an area relating to Jewish Studies, arts management, and/or leadership.
  • At least five years of experience in program development.
  • Understanding of adult learning theory and best practices.
  • Experience with supervision and program management.
  • Ability to work with diverse external and internal constituents.

Related Skills or Knowledge

  • Background in adult education or Jewish education, and awareness of current trends in the field.
  • Familiarity with adult learning, leadership, and/or arts and culture.
  • Must have strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and public speaking/presentation skills.

Travel: Generally limited to metro Chicago areas for programs and constituent and funder relationship development. Occasional participation in national or international conferences.  

Compensation

  • Salary Range: $50,000-$65,000
  • Attractive Benefit Package includes vacation and holiday time off, medical and dental insurance, retirement savings, and employee assistance program.
